Good luck chasing chrome on the left coast. Keep us informed here at Way Upstream of your efforts and continue to join the conversations. Your voice is important......and your beach spot is saved.El Pescadorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08493288515588564941noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5005965666877496170.post-4343324203425559582007-07-19T03:34:00.000-05:002007-07-19T03:34:00.000-05:00That photo cap should read "...gazing in frustrati...That photo cap should read "...gazing in frustration" or "aggravation." Holy smokes. Those fish are brutal--cruising up the wash into ankle deep water, digging out sand crabs and completely ignoring our offerings. There were fish everywhere! And we got the donut. Nice.

You know how cool it is to spot a fish, watch it feed, make the cast and see it eat your fly? Neither do I. At least not in the SoCal surf. I headed home to steelhead country with tail between legs. At least with steelhead, when they refuse your presentation, most of the time you never even know it. Probably because, for the most part, you're never even sure if they're there. It's probably some kind of personal psychological defect, but I think that kind of fishing just suits me better. Fear of rejection? Hey, what you don't know can't hurt your feelings, right?

Anyway, it was a really cool experience. Sort of in the same way getting kicked in the nuts by a rabid baboon might be. Oh, wait--is that...masochism? Now that's something a steelheader understands... I get it. Yeah, I'm coming back for more--save me a spot on the beach, guys. Be a lot better if it was 36 degrees and raining, though.

Peace,

DylanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
