Transparency

In the interest of transparency, I'd like to bring something to the attention of the Way Upstream community. I know many of you have appreciated the Patagonia content provided here so I felt that it was important to make the following statement public - I no longer work for Patagonia. I remain a brand supporter and I'd like to express my appreciation to all of you who made your voices heard on Patagonia matters while I was in my former role. What does all this mean for the future? I don't know but it's time to look for new water. I'll keep you posted along the way upstream.

Are they accepting resumes for your old job?!? If so... were do I sign up!

I'll miss the inside scoop and informative info on a great brand, but will look forward to the new perspective and content. Continues to be one of my favorite blogs!

Best of luck in your new venture EP.

Fishing positions are hard to come by but certainly keep your eyes on the job postings my friend. You never know....and don't worry about missing the inside scoop. Way Upstream will still provide a unique perspective. My unaffiliated status (at least for now) should give me the ability to address a wider spectrum of content. Thanks for the blog compliment and well wishing JS. Onward.

I don't think you will be easily replaced. You held to high values and wanted only the best for the company and the people you worked for. You will be hugely missed. But we will always remain friends, plus you still owe me a fishing trip!

Looking for new water is always exciting and a bit scary. You will be missed in your former role at Patagonia, but I am excited for you to explore new opportunities. Best of luck to you El Pescador! Ben and I will be in Boston this Fall editing a revision of Red Gold for Frontline. We will definitely need to wet a line together. Thanks for your support over the years.

I appreciate the kind words Merri....and yes, I will take you fishing for sure! When can you come to Maine?

Onward Billy. I hope our paths cross again either by sail, trail, wave, river or slope.

Exciting and a bit scary is a good way to describe the search for new water Travis. I'll let you know what I find. Definitely let me know when you and Ben will be in Boston. Early Fall is a good time to chase big stripers on the move. Plus there's always the possibility of catching some hurricane swell.

Steve, I just now found out you no longer work for Patagonia. On July 21 I sent my fieldtest to your mailaddress at Patagonia. Was it at all forwarded to you? Could you mail me your current mail address please? I would like to stay in touch. Take care my friend, someone with your talent will find an inspiring field of professional interest in no time.

I didn't get the field report Taco but I'm sure the design and development team at Patagonia appreciated the feedback. Thanks for following up and for the confidence in me. Keep in touch.
