Sea of change

New cut on Nantucket Nantucket after the storm Nantucket before the storm
Have you seen the physical changes to ACK (Nantucket, MA) following the most recent storm? There's a new cut on "the rock". The new cut on the way out to Smith Point is putting a major hurdle in access to a great shore fisherman's nighttime spot (sadly) -- but the cut itself looks VERY fishy. The only problem is that it's waaaaaay to easy to get to.

It will be very interesting to see what, if any, impact the new cut has on the Bonito Bar. My fear is that the changes in the current so close to the Bonito Bar may prevent the shoaling that is so vital to the Bar forming each summer. We may actually have to work to find bonito this year, instead of just anchoring up and letting them come to us!

Good points Slamdance. Keep Way Upstream posted on any observations as the season develops.
